New Year, Don’t Forget…

Time obviously didn’t slow down for the New Year, we’re already a week into 2016! Over the course of these past two weeks I have felt God just moving in my life and one thing He has been placing heavy on my heart is to not forget; to not forget that I am His. I initially planned on making my first blog  about honoring God with your body this year through your health, but He pushed me to take it a step further. To my Christian sisters and brothers reading this we need to remember that we are His. We are made for His glory.

It’s easy for us to move into the new year thinking about all the things we want to do differently or things we want to change but  this year I want to challenge you to first, above everything else…love the Lord your God with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind (Luke 10:27). I started reading the book of Luke a few days ago and as I read about Jesus and His life I see His compassion, His gentleness, His righteousness, His love, and genuine interest in caring for others. As followers of Christ this is how He wants us to live.

The more I read into Luke, I begin to see how God sees us and just how precious we are to Him! Going into 2016 you need to know this. God placed it on my heart to tell you that He desires a pure, authentic, and intimate relationship with you. You are His daughter or son, which makes you a co-heir with Christ. You are royalty and you should carry yourself as such. You are so very special to God. Indeed the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. (Luke 12:7)

Don’t listen to the lies of this world. You are a light to this world. No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light! (Luke 11:33) God did not intend for us to hide our light trying to conform to this world but He wants us to go out and shine where the darkness is. Let God use you in 2016!

You have God’s Holy Spirit in you, do you know how amazing that is; how powerful that is? In Luke 10:18-20  Jesus says “I saw satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy, nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in Heaven.”  Luke 12:32 says, “Do not be afraid little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the Kingdom.” God obviously has to think very highly of us if our names are written in Heaven and He wants to give us His Kingdom. So why do we continue to give Him our second best? Do we truly bring His Kingdom honor or shame?

I want to encourage you to honor the Lord with your life, seek Him, live for Him, bring His name glory, and get ready because He is coming back soon! If you know what the Lord desires of you, please do it.  From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked. (Luke 12:48) God has great work for us to do, be bold for Him, go after that purpose He’s placed in your heart!  Share His Truth, love, and light!

That being said know that you were bought at a price, so therefore honor God with your bodies. (1 Corinthians 6:20) Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you. (1 Corinthians 6:19) I know this scripture is often used in regards to sexual purity but for me it’s so much more than that. It’s your overall health and wellness; nutrition and fitness. When I take care of this body God has given me I know that makes Him happy. Caring for yourself is like an act of worship; you are showing Him that you are thankful for the body that He’s given you by being mindful of how you treat it. Make every effort to honor God with your body and nourish your temple. Moving forward into the new year I will be doing more blogging about nutrition and fitness. So stay tuned and follow me on my journey. 🙂

For the rest of 2016 don’t forget…that you are His. God created you. You are His son or daughter. You are a co-heir with Christ. He wants to give you His Kingdom. You are a king or queen. So wear your crown and remember Whose you are!

Much Love and Happy 2016!
