Got to Start Somewhere

When I was in high school I had cheerleading conditioning to keep me in shape, but now a senior in college I lack that same structure and self-discipline to workout regularly. I’ll have a really good day of working out…but then I’ll fall off for 2 or 3 weeks until I workout again. I want to be more consistent starting this summer and moving forward. I was inspired to start this fitness journal as a way to hold myself accountable; and a way of keeping track of my progress.

Today I stared off with something small:

  • Walk – 2 minutes
  • Stretch – 5 minutes
  • Run – 15 minutes
  • Crunches – 20 reps x 3
  • Side Crunches – 20 reps x 3 (each side)
  • Push Ups – 10 reps x 3

My focus was just in getting my heart rate up and waking up my sleeping upper body muscles lol. It’s been so long since I’ve used them and I can tell; apparently so can others. My parents keep telling me I lost the muscle tone in my arms. So my long term goal is to tone up overall while building endurance for a 10k I will be running in a month or so. Today I was able to run for about 13 of the whole 15 minutes. Which isn’t my best and no where near 10k ready, but I got to start somewhere. πŸ™‚
